Team17 development has teamed up with Codemasters and Majesco Entertainment to bring another Worm’s adventure to the world, Worms 4: Mayhem. The Worm’s series has a simple premise: players command a small platoon of worms out to destroy the other team. There are a host of weapons and zany moves that can be used to do just that. The original series was so popular the game has gone on to publish several expansions. Each expansion offers its own change to gameplay, some new content, and all the fun fans have come to expect from the developers.
Worms 4: Mayhem’s big claim to fame comes in two forms: customization and creation. Players can now completely customize the uniform their worms appear in. This means adding anything from gloves to facial hair (with a lot in between), and truly making the team unique. The customization options were welcomed, but they are not the only addition Worms 4 made. The creation element that’s been referenced refers to the inclusion of a new part of the game called the weapons factory. In the weapon’s factory, players can create their own custom weapons. This is extremely fun as it really opens up the game to where the imagination is the only limit of what can be done.
Worms 4: Mayhem did offer a selection of weapons the developers created as well, as well as access to a new in game shop to purchase even more upgrades and weapons. Some of these weapons included Icarus potion, Starburst, and Tail Nail. Each weapon has its own effect, and fans will have to try them out to see all the awesome functionality that’s been added.
Worms 4 has been welcomed into the series as a fun addition, particularly with its creation of the weapons factory and the ability to customize the worms themselves.
