Power and ease of use when designing electronic circuits
NI Multisim is the program previously known as Electronic Workbench, an electronic circuitry digital simulation program.
The circuit can be designed component by component, much as though the person were designing it by hand, allowing for testing of circuitry with no person risk to the self or to the parts involved with the circuit. It has a very realistic sequence of components, including RF circuits, VHDL and SPICE simulation modules, a PCB generator, and others.
The program also has portions designed to showcase specific processes like the ASM or C microcontroller programming tasks that will so commonly come up for students of the electrical field.
The program was originally designed to be used within the education system, allowing students to watch their professors create a circuit, and students to practice circuitry without risk.
That being said, NI Multisim is also excellent merely for practising creating circuits or designing a circuit and test running it without risking losing parts or causing harmful shorts.
NI Multisim is an excellent circuitry simulation tool for educators and electricians alike.
- Designed for education
- Easy to use (Even for beginners)
- Lots of realistic components and parts available
- Specific process modules designed for educators specifically
- Heavy on computer resources at times
- Lengthy installation process
- Old fashioned program
